Privacy Policy
Calls are not recorded. Chats are not read routinely. Card numbers are not stored. Personal data is not sold. What is collected, why, and what you can do about it is below.
1. What this covers
This policy explains what 1v1Roulette collects when you use the website and its features, how that information is used, stored, shared and protected, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. By using the service you accept the practices described here.
2. What you give us
- Account details: the lightweight account created when you start, plus anything you add, such as an email address, display name, avatar, profile details, date of birth or gender.
- What you publish: photos, posts, comments and anything else you choose to share on your profile or in clubs.
- Messages and requests: chat messages, reports, support requests and feedback.
- Purchases: what you bought, when, and the transaction details. Payments go through a payment provider, and card numbers are not stored by 1v1Roulette.
3. What is collected automatically
- Device and browser: device type, operating system, browser and identifiers.
- Usage: pages and features used, how long calls lasted (which is also what billing is calculated from), and where you arrived from.
- Approximate location, derived from your connection's IP address.
- Logs: IP address, access times and system events, which is what makes anti-abuse and fraud checks possible.
4. What comes from other services
If you sign in with another service such as Google, it shares the basics you allow, typically your name, email address and profile picture. Analytics tools give us usage figures in aggregate.
5. Your camera and microphone
Your browser asks permission before either is used, and they are used only to carry a live call while it is happening. Calls are not recorded, and recording the other person is against the Terms of Service.
One-on-one describes the number of people in a conversation, not a privacy guarantee: the other person may still be able to capture their own screen. Keep passwords, payment details and your address out of a call.
6. Messages
Chat messages are not read routinely. When something is reported, a person reviews the reported part to decide what happened; that is the reason the exception exists, and it is the limit of it.
7. How information is used
- To run the service: matching, calls, messages, purchases and the features you ask for.
- To personalise it, for example your settings and who you are matched with.
- To contact you about your account, purchases and support requests.
- To keep it safe: detecting fraud, abuse and breaches of the rules, and enforcing removals.
- To fix problems and improve the product.
- To meet legal obligations.
8. What other people can see
Your display name, avatar, profile, photos and public posts are visible to other people, and public content may be indexed by search engines. Cached copies can persist for a while after you delete something. Calls and chat messages are never public.
9. Cookies and browser storage
- Essential: keep you signed in, secure the session and detect abuse.
- Functional: remember settings such as language and display preferences.
- Performance: tell us, in aggregate, how pages and features are used.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Clearing them signs you out; blocking essential ones stops parts of the site working.
10. Who information is shared with
Your personal data is not sold. It is shared only:
- with your consent;
- with service providers that run parts of the platform for us (hosting, payments, analytics, anti-abuse, support), under contract;
- with authorities, where a valid legal request requires it or someone's safety is at risk;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, under the same protections;
- as aggregated or anonymised figures that cannot reasonably identify you.
11. How long it is kept
There is no fixed expiry. Information is kept for as long as one of these is true:
- your account is open and using the service;
- it is needed to settle a payment, a dispute, or a tax or accounting obligation;
- it is needed to enforce a removal, since a permanent ban only works if the record of it survives;
- a law requires it, or an investigation is open.
When none of those applies any more, it is deleted or anonymised.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask to:
- access a copy of the information held about you;
- correct anything inaccurate;
- delete your account and information (you can also delete your account yourself);
- receive your data in a portable format;
- restrict or object to some uses of it;
- opt out of marketing messages at any time.
You can also block and report anyone, permanently and immediately. To use any of these rights, go through contact; requests are answered within a reasonable time and as the law requires.
13. Age
1v1Roulette is not for anyone under 18 and is not directed at children. Information from someone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If an account is found to belong to someone under 18, it is closed and the information associated with it is removed. If you believe that has happened, tell us through contact.
14. Security
Connections to 1v1Roulette are encrypted (HTTPS), access to personal information is limited to the people and systems that need it, and payments are handled by payment providers rather than stored here. No system is completely secure, so use a strong, unique password and be careful what you share.
15. Other services and links
Sign-in, payments, analytics, hosting and support tools run partly on other companies' services, each with its own privacy policy. This policy does not cover sites we link to but do not run.
16. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and significant changes are announced on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means the updated policy applies.
Getting in touch
For anything that happened inside a call, the report control is the route that reaches a person, and reports are reviewed by people. Contact lists the other routes.
