Account and sign-in

How do I sign in or create an account?

You do not need to fill in a sign-up form before your first match: a lightweight account is created when you start, so your trial time and coins have somewhere to live. To keep the same account across devices, use one of the sign-in options on the login screen.

Why is my account restricted, or why can I not sign in?

Access can be limited when the system spots unusual activity or a security risk, when the account broke the rules, or when it needs extra verification. Restrictions for rule breaches are explained in the community guidelines; if you think one is a mistake, contact us.

How do I keep my account safe?

Keep your sign-in details to yourself, avoid signing in on devices you do not trust, and never give a password or verification code to anyone. Nobody from 1v1Roulette will ask for them. If you think someone else got in, contact us straight away.

Matching and calls

How does matching work?

Matching is roulette-style: you are introduced to one person at a time and decide whether to stay. It works from whoever is available at that moment, so the wait and who you meet vary with the hour. Next ends the current conversation before another introduction begins.

Why is matching taking a while?

Fewer people are available at some hours than others. Keep the page open; if it stays stuck, refresh and try again, and check your connection.

A call failed or the video froze. What should I check?

Check your connection first, then that the browser has camera and microphone permission and that no other app is using them. Switching from mobile data to Wi-Fi, or the reverse, often fixes freezing.

My camera or microphone is not working.

Accept the browser permission prompt, confirm the right camera and microphone are selected, and close any other app that may be using them. If access was blocked, open your browser site settings for 1v1roulette.com, allow both, and reload the page.

Messages

Why can I not send a message?

Messaging can be unavailable because of an account restriction, or a block between the two of you.

Coins, VIP and billing

Is a 1v1 video chat free?

Calls are paid. A new account starts with some trial time, but the amount is set by an anti-abuse system, so no fixed number of free minutes can be promised. After that, calls use coins bought up front, at a price each person sets for themselves. A notice appears before billing starts.

Why did two calls of the same length cost different amounts?

There is no single rate. Each person sets their own price per minute, so calls with different people can cost different amounts.

My purchase has not appeared yet.

Payment providers sometimes take a little while to confirm. Check the payment result page and your coin balance; if it still has not arrived, contact us with the order time and amount.

Can I get a refund?

Coins that have been spent and calls that have happened are not refundable, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a purchase, report it and a person will look at it.

Profiles, photos and posts

Why was my avatar, nickname or photo rejected?

Profile content is reviewed. It is rejected if it is explicit or suggestive, includes contact details, links or other apps, shows someone else, is misleading, or breaks the community guidelines in another way.

Why was my post or club removed?

Posts, club names, pictures and descriptions follow the same rules as profiles. Advertising, insults, discrimination, unsafe or infringing material and other people's personal information are removed.

Reports, blocks and restrictions

How do I report someone?

Use the report control in the call, or on the profile, post or message. A report from inside a call arrives with the conversation attached.

What happens after I report?

A person reviews it. Depending on what happened, the content is removed, the account is limited, or the account is removed. A removal is permanent: the same person cannot register again.

What does blocking do?

A block takes effect immediately and is permanent: that person can no longer reach you.

Privacy and policies

Are calls recorded?

No. Calls are not recorded, and chat messages are not read routinely; only the part of a conversation that somebody reported is reviewed. One-on-one is not a privacy guarantee, though: the other person may still capture their own screen.

Where are the rules and how my data is handled?

The Terms of Service and Community Guidelines set out the rules; the Privacy Policy covers what is collected, shared and kept, and your rights. All of them are listed under All policies.

Pages and loading

A page is blank or will not load.

Refresh, sign in again, and check your connection. If it persists, clear the site data for 1v1roulette.com or try another up-to-date browser.

What should I include when reporting a technical problem?

The page or feature, roughly when it happened, your account ID, your device and browser, and a screenshot or screen recording if you can.

Still stuck? Contact & support lists which route fits what. The rules themselves are in the community guidelines, terms and privacy policy.

Getting in touch

For anything that happened inside a call, the report control is the route that reaches a person, and reports are reviewed by people. Contact lists the other routes.
