About 1v1Roulette
One match. Two people. Your next conversation. This page is what that means in practice, and what we deliberately do not do.
Two ideas in one name
1v1 is the format: a conversation between you and one other person, on video, with no group room and no audience. Roulette is how you meet that person: instead of building a contact list first, you enter a matching flow and get the next introduction. Put together, 1v1Roulette is a 1v1 chat with roulette-style matching.
How a conversation starts
Open the site in a browser; there is nothing to install and no profile to build first. When you start, your browser asks for the camera and microphone once. You are matched, you talk, and when you want to move on you press Next. Leaving needs no reason and no goodbye.
Matching works from whoever is available at that moment, so the wait and who you meet vary with the hour.
What else is here
The 1v1 video chat is the centre of the product. Around it: messages, for carrying a conversation on after a call; a profile with photos and posts; clubs, for conversations around a shared interest; and live rooms. All of it runs in the browser.
Who it is for
- People who would rather talk to one person than scroll past a hundred.
- People who like being introduced, instead of building a contact list first.
- People who want clear rules, a visible report button, and the freedom to leave without explaining.
Everyone on 1v1Roulette must be at least 18 years old.
What it costs
Calls are paid. A new account starts with some trial time, but the amount is decided by an anti-abuse system rather than offered as a fixed deal, so nobody can quote you a number of free minutes in advance. After that, calls draw from coins you buy up front, at a price each person sets for themselves; there is no single site-wide rate. A notice appears before billing starts.
What this site does not do
- Calls are not recorded. Nothing from one exists afterwards.
- Chats are not read routinely, only the part somebody reported.
- Card numbers are not stored here. Payments go through a payment provider.
- Personal data is not sold.
- Removals are permanent. An account removed for breaking the rules cannot register again, and a block never expires.
Rules and responsibility
Everyone here agrees to the Terms of Service and the community guidelines. Harassment, impersonation, scams, payment abuse and unsafe behaviour lead to removed content, limited features or a removed account, depending on how serious they are.
The community guidelines say what gets an account removed, and the privacy policy says what is kept and why.
