Good conversations need boundaries

Community guidelines

Good conversations have boundaries. Treat the person opposite you like a person, keep your camera and your profile honest, and leave whenever you want.

Who can join

Everyone on camera, on both sides, must be at least 18 years old. There is no exception, and an account found to belong to someone younger is closed.

The basics

  • Respect people. Disagree if you like; do not insult, attack or discriminate against anyone.
  • Respect privacy. Never share someone else's personal information without their consent.
  • Be honest. No fake identities, false promotions or misleading claims.
  • Follow the law where you are, especially anything to do with minors.
  • Report what you see. Reports are how problems reach a person.

What ends an account immediately

  • Anything involving someone under 18, in any form. The account is removed and the matter is referred to the authorities.
  • Explicit material on camera, in photos or in posts.
  • Recording the other person, or capturing and sharing any part of a call. Calls are not recorded by 1v1Roulette, and they are not yours to record either.
  • Threats and coercion, including pressuring somebody for money, images or contact details.
  • Violent, graphic or terror-related content.

What gets you removed if it continues

  • Harassment: insults, intimidation, and pushing after somebody has said no.
  • Hate: abuse aimed at who somebody is.
  • Pretending to be someone else, including using another person's photos as your own.
  • Advertising, recruiting, spam or scams, including asking to be paid off the platform. If the point of a call is to send the other person somewhere else, this is not the place.
  • No live picture. A black frame or a static image is not a video chat, and it wastes the other person's time.

Your profile, photos and posts

Avatars, profile photos, albums, nicknames, posts and club names, pictures and descriptions are seen by other people, so they are reviewed and can be rejected or removed. None of them may contain:

  • explicit, suggestive or partly undressed imagery, or vulgar emoji and wording;
  • blood, gore or violence;
  • discrimination or insults aimed at anyone;
  • advertising, links, or the names of other apps and services;
  • phone numbers, social handles or any other contact details;
  • photos or videos of someone else, or images that are fake or heavily altered to mislead.

An avatar should show you, clearly. If you are asked to verify your identity with a short video, record it yourself, in good light, with your face uncovered (no mask, hat or sunglasses), and make sure it is the same person as in your photos.

What happens when you report someone

The report goes to a person, with the conversation it came from attached. Chats are not read routinely; only the reported part is looked at, and that exception exists for exactly this reason.

What happens after a breach

  • Minor or first-time issues: the content is removed or rejected and you may be warned.
  • Repeated or more serious issues: features such as matching, messaging or posting may be limited.
  • Serious issues, or anything in "ends an account immediately": the account is removed. A removal is permanent: the same person cannot register again.

Blocking somebody is also permanent and takes effect immediately.

Leaving a conversation

You never need a reason. Press Next and the current conversation ends before another introduction begins; press Leave and the session ends. The person on the other side has exactly the same choice.

If you think a decision was wrong

Say so through contact and a person will look at it again. The binding version of these rules lives in the Terms of Service.

Getting in touch

For anything that happened inside a call, the report control is the route that reaches a person, and reports are reviewed by people. Contact lists the other routes.
